The most common question people ask about braces is that, do braces hurt?, or is the procedure painful?
The answer I have for you you is, it varies from patient to patient. However there is no pain when your orthodontist inserts the braces, the discomfort may start afterward. We’ve all heard about that one person that scored a 10 and some that scored a 0 for the whole experience. The important thing to know is to remember your end jawline and teeth goal which makes the process easier.
You may feel a mild soreness or discomfort after the orthodontic wire is installed into the newly placed brackets, the discomfort may last for a few days to a week. Our cutting edge appliances and wires exert very light force that decrease any soreness associated with orthodontic treatment. However, some mild discomfort is still to be expected because remember your teeth are being moved into place.
With time your mouth will eventually adjust to the braces and become more accustom to the strain adjustment.
